The Scholastic Book Fair returned to Walthamstow School for Girls last week and the event has been a huge success! A large number of students from Years 7-11 visited the LRC at break and lunch between Friday 15th and Tuesday 19thNovember. Everyone couldn’t wait to browse the exciting titles on display, and the majority of students who attended the Book Fair made at least one purchase - with ‘The Reappearance of Rachel Price’ and ‘Powerless’ proving particularly popular. It has been wonderful to see so many students engaging with reading for pleasure and creating such a buzz around new book releases!

We almost doubled our original target, selling books and stationery to the value of £920.99 by the end of the Book Fair! This has earned us £456 in Scholastic Rewards to spend on some fantastic new fiction titles for the LRC, which will be available for all students to take out on loan from next week.

A very big thank you to the students and teachers who volunteered to help at the Book Fair, either on the ticket or payments desk. You helped to make the event a really special one!
